first solve the equations to get the points of intersection (1,1) and (-1,1)
get a rough graph of the required region (green area of the following figure)

use vertical strips (or horizontal strips) to cover the whole region
if vertical strips are used the strips will start from y=x²  and go upto y=1
and the strips will be spread over the region from x = -1 to x =1

if horizontal strips are used the strips will start from x= -sqrt(y) to x =sqrt(y)
and will be spread over the region from y =0 to y =1
