My brother recently bought a dvd player from Big Bazar, the retail chain. It was called Passion DVD player and cost something around Rs.1300/- . One thing about it was that it seemed to be minimal. There seems to be no LED to indicate that the power is on. It was connected to back panel of our Samsung TV since the side panel was being used for the tata sky dth connection. The player showed up in AV 1 on the tv remote. After that the DVD player could be controlled with the remote supplied with the player. After around two weeks, the player stopped responding to its remote. (The player could still be operated manually , but it was too much hassle ) We changed the batteries (two small ones worth Rs.10/- each). But still the remote did not work. So I took the remote to Thakaraparambu road near East Fort. It is the place where a lot of shack like electronic shops are located. You will be able to find most of electronic components/spare parts at Thakaraparambu. I had to ask around at a couple of shops there. At the second shop itself, they looked at the number on the old remote and supplied me with a replacement for Rs.100/-. It seems to be working perfectly till now. |
